Superyacht Of The Future – Rossinavi’s Aurora

A 28-year-old owner wanted a fast boat with a massive beach club and an outside-the-box approach to design. The result is a 49.9 metre that looks to the future… Launched in April 2017, superyacht Aurora is a beautiful 49m semi-displacement vessel, built by the prestigious Viareggio-based shipyard, Rossinavi. Luxury motor yacht Aurora boasts a sporty and sleek exterior design by Fulvio de Simoni and naval architecture by Arrabito Naval Architects.

Her exterior has dramatic cutouts along the forward edges and a gun-sight-shaped anchor chock at the bow. The 161-foot yacht’s only exterior curves are a slight bend in the pilothouse and arches toward the stern. Her interior configuration has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests overnight in 6 cabins, comprising a master suite, 2 VIP staterooms, and 3 double cabins. Her layout has an unusually large beach club, with steam room, and a foredeck with lounges and a swimming pool.

The interior has not one but three saloons, and two VIP staterooms, along with the stunning master suite on the main deck. Two other guest cabins are on the deck below. She is also capable of carrying up to 9 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. Aurora could have gone down in yachting history as the ultimate bachelor’s pad, but Achille Salvagni’s interior is a decidedly feminine counterpoint. Salvagni used curves everywhere: circular sofas, soft-edged custom lamps, and even marble walls that, defying the laws of nature, bend gently around corners.

Combining the different visions inside and out turned out to be a masterstroke in yacht design. Powered by 2 MTU (12V 4000 M93L) 3,460hp diesel engines and propelled by her twin screw propellers Motor yacht Aurora is capable of a top speed of 21 knots, and comfortably cruises at 17 knots. With her 50,000 fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,800 nautical miles at 12 knots.
