The legendary Bandit left us, but he left behind a bunch of fantastic objects. Yesterday in Los Angeles, there was an auction of Property from the Estate of Burt Reynolds, and some items raised a lot of dust – stardust, of course!
Of course, the main star was a 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am custom built for Reynolds and his business partner, Gene Kennedy. Since none of the Trans Am movies used in the film survived shooting, Burt ordered a replica for a private collection. It has been used extensively to promote the 40th anniversary of the film and “Bandit Run” gathering, and has even managed to collect 24,000 km.

Burt Reynolds’ “Bandit” Trans Am
One of the Hollywood car icons has everything like an original, including a radio station. Of course, this was Burt’s favorite car with the registration mark 22FSU, – the number is known from Burt’s “The Longest Yard” jersey, and the FSU is the abbreviation for the Florida State University Seminole – a university for which Burt played football.
With the legendary Trans Am, a lot of other items were sold; with a stack of cowboy boots, Stetson and belt buckles, they sold and signed the door from “Smokey and the Bandit” police car – for $10,240. Trans Am alone has reached incredible $317,500, more than ten times the initial price! For more than $25,000, found its buyer the legendary radio station which also been used in the movie! It was a great day for fans and for the house of Julien’s Auctions!
