As the Watches and Wonders exhibition will be virtually held this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Roger Dubuis brand has unveiled its latest creation online…
They launched their official press release and digital rendering of the model. Called the Excalibur Diabolus In Machina, this watch is unique and has an ice-blue color. The one-of-a-kind watch adheres to their design formula in the usual Roger Dubuis style, using a hi-tech case, complete with an open dial and a flying tourbillon. Still, the main focus of the watch comes in the form of a complication with a minute repeater, which, together with the unusual dial design, creates the ideal novelty for 2020 Watches and Wonders.
Excalibur Diabolus In Machina’s housing is made of patented material, called the CarTech Micro-Melt BioDur CCMTM. Practically, it is a non-magnetized cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy, which begins its life in powder form, which is subsequently molded into a solid material. The watch brand says that the unique material is far more resistant to everyday wear than stainless steel, that is, retains its luster even after a few scratches.
The watch is powered by RD107 caliber, which has a symmetrical layout with two micro-rotors and a turbion. The inside of the clock is densely packed, along with an open dial. The main decoration of the model is, as we said earlier, its minute repeater that is specially tuned for this model.
The transparent disc shows us hours, a quarter of an hour and minutes, and is just behind Roman numerals at the 11 o’clock position. The watch is paired with a stylish leather strap adorned with a titanium buckle. As we said before, this model is unique and its price is $571,000.
