Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and demand for the finest chocolates doesn’t wane. If you’re looking for some truly special chocolates, then this just might be what you need. Perfect for people who love tea and chocolates, the set comes from Japanese chocolate maker Sils Maria. Beautifully packaged and uniquely prepared, the “Tea Connection: Fresh Chocolates from Three Uji Teas” is a box of the goodies, which comes with three varieties of quality tea, costs 100,000 yen, or around $900.
Created in collaboration with 150 year old tea retailer and manufacturer Tsuji Rihei Honten, the gourmet collection of tea chocolates consists of 20 pieces each of the three decadent varieties. This includes Matcha Fresh Chocolate (with powdered green tea, cream, champagne and Belgian white chocolate), ‘Fresh chocolate with roasted stem Uji Gyokuro tea’ (using Uji-grown Gyokuro tea hoji-cha stem and fine whiskey) and Fresh Uji Sencha Chocolates (made out of Belgian white chocolate, fresh sage and Uji green tea).
Sils Maria is famous as the first brand to produce the fresh, ganache-like type of chocolate now known as nama-choco (raw chocolate), and combined with Tsuji Rihei Honten’s award-winning teas, the chocolates are sure to be a delightfully refined treat.
