Gold Motorola XOOM Tablet Coming To Oscars Award Show

Until now were seen the Motorola XOOM in two colours, Black (which will be the model launching the US) and in Silver (color for Europe only). Now a Limited Edition Gold Motorola XOOM model has been confirmed for this weekends Oscars award show. Motorola company has found a great way to promote their products and to show the whole world how brilliant and popular they are.

The limited edition Gold Motorola XOOM tablets will be handed out along with a special Gold accented leather envelopes to hosts and the nominees. Not every Oscar winner gets one of the luxe XOOMs, though. Only hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway and the nominees for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Director will be able to watch their movies on a golden Motorola XOOM.

The XOOM, which made PCMag’s Best of CES 2011 list earlier this year, goes on sale Feb. 24 for $600 with a two-year contract or $800 without one. It’s the first tablet to be released running Google’s tablet-specific operating system, Android 3.0 Honeycomb. [Motorola]
