Western Digital‘s MyBook Live Duo is an network attached storage (NAS) for the home. WD MyBook Live Duo provides all of the sharing via its WD2go Web portal featuring everything that most home and small-office users need, streams media well, and has strong backup capabilities. It also provides access to files from mobile devices, and it turned in very good performance when reading large files.

Dual-drive box supports up to 8TB of digital storage. The MyBook Live further features a built-in 800 MHz CPU for a smooth media streaming and multi-peer connectivity to you personal unit. Web interface is nice looking and very functional. From here you can set the device to configure in RAID 0 or 1 modes (it ships in RAID 0, but we’d suggest RAID 1 for extra security); with the WD 2go, enable remote web access, FTP, DLNA and iTunes servers; and set up email addresses to send critical system alerts to.

The WD company provide free apps for both IOS and Android devices, though the pro versions of those app, which store files locally for offline use, cost $3 each. You may also directly access the MyBook Live Duo’s HTML interface remotely.

WD MyBook Live Duo 8TB edition will cost you $660, but if you’re not so rich 6TB unit is $440 and 4TB box for $375 will satisfy you.
