According to a recent report, the long-rumored Bugatti Veyron SuperSport is headed for production. While details are limited, CarsUK is claiming an unnamed source has dropped a €400,000 ($496,470) deposit to purchase one of the 30 SuperSport models which will retail for €1,650,000 ($2,047,675).

Bugatti will follow the tradition of creating a Supersport special edition model for the Veyron as the model’s reign comes to an end. The same tradition was used for both the Type 55 in the 1930s and the EB110 in the 1990s, making the possibility of a Veyron Supersport that much more believable. This Veyron Supersport would allegedly offer an astonishing 1,200 horsepower – the same amount as the recently revealed Hennessey Venom GT.
Also, Veyron SuperSport, will be lighter with 660 pounds (300 kg) comparing to the current version. These improvements will push the car from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.2 seconds while the top speed achieved will be 264 mph (425 km/h).
The new Bugatti Veyron SuperSport will be built only for 30 customers, rich enough to buy the expensive car.The special-edition 1,200-hp Veyron is expected to debut at the Pebble Beach Concours in California this August or the Paris Motor Show in October.
