Audemars Piguet has just announced a new Royal Oak Offshore to celebrate their 135th Anniversary, as well as to commemorate their relationship with F1 driver Jarno Trulli. To mark this great achievement, Audemars Piguet Japan held a grand event and a new product launch party in the Choice! restaurant on the third floor of the city’s Ark Mori building.
The Italian champion has been Audemars Piguet ambassador since 2008. On this weekend, Jarno Trulli will compete in the Japanese Grand Prix. The driver will be wearing a helmet with a picture of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Jarno Trulli Chronograph.
The Royal Oak Offshore, a true icon of the brand, has been created as an ultimate sports watch. The line is associated with some of the most famous Formula 1 racing drivers, including Rubens Barrichello and Juan Pablo Montoya. Powered by a self winding caliber 3126/3840, this has a 22K gold oscillating weight, however, instead of rose gold, this one has an anthracite grey galvanic coating. The movement has 365 parts, 59 jewels and a 60-hour power reserve. The cadence of the balance is 21,6000 (or 3 Hz). A variable inertia balance with eight inertia blocks and a flat balance-spring allows for fine adjustments.

A beautifully embellished creation, the mainplate of this timepiece is circular-grained, while its bridges are rhodium-plated, chamfered, sailed and adorned with Cotes de Geneve motif. The Cermet (ceramic) bezel, crown and pushers as well as the sapphire crystal back is in sand-blasted titanium. Case diameter is 42 mm by 16.5 mm thick. Engraved on the case back of this timepiece is the inscription: Royal Oak Offshore Limited Edition Jarno Trulli.
The limited edition chronograph is restricted to only 500 pieces and will be available from the Audemars Piguet Boutique located in Tokyo’s Ginza shopping area. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Jarno Trulli Chronograph will initially be available in Japan only and be released worldwide by the end of the year.
