British-born editor-in-chief of American Vogue, Anna Wintour and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein will host fundraising dinner for Barack Obama this Thursday, August 11. The high-powered, intimate dinner and discussion costs $71,600-a-couple and will take place at the West Village home Weinstein shares with his wife, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman.
The event is said to be sold out, with $2 million raised! Among those confirmed to attend are Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin, Lyor Cohen, Tory Burch, Alicia Keys and Quentin Tarantino. Madonna was also invited, but won’t make it Thursday due to a personal commitment, said her rep.
Dinner for President Obama had been scheduled for July 18 but was postponed because of the debt ceiling crisis.
Last year, Wintour hosted a similar fundraiser for the president, entertaining 50 guests who shelled out $30,400 each at her home in Manhattan. In January, Wintour attended the state dinner honoring China at the White House.
