The truly competitor to the famous Dr. Dre Beats Studio headphones coming from Denon. Following their well-received AH-D7000, Denon once again occupies an enviable position on the market with a brand new flagship for audiophiles, the AH-D7100 headphones. And the price is also enviable – £1,000 (about $1,500) and will be available in Autumn 2012.
The new world-class headphones features 50mm Free Edge Nano Fiber drivers which Denon compares to a box loudspeaker inside a headphone, that deliver a a frequency response between 4hz to 45Khz (normal human hearing is between 20hz to 20Khz). The headphones have also been complemented with African Mahogany Wood Ear Cups, an in-line mic and remote for your smartphone.
Notable features of the AH-D7100 is that its cable is removable, using chunky jack plugs that fit into each earcup. So, if you want to use these on the bus, Denon says a second cable using a 3.5mm jack (the standard is 6.35mm).
When it comes to design, AH-D7100 headphones with frosted silver and brown in colour and with plenty of moulded, organic lines make Denon’s previous flagship AH-D7000 headphones completely uninteresting.
