New Samsung’s 85-inch Ultra HD TV is arriving soon, but unfortunately only well off will be able to afford it. Priced at $39,999, the UN85S9 will be available for purchase later this month. According to Samsung, new 85-inch is about to be joined by two bigger brothers — a 95-inch and a 110-inch model, both of which will be more expensive still.

For the almost $40,000 you’ll get a new 85-inch “floating” Ultra HD TV with “deep, real blacks and pure vivacious whites, as well as the sharpest resolutions ever seen on large format displays.” It will also convert HD or full HD to UHD picture quality via a 1.35-GHz A15 quad-core processor.

The frame surrounding the floating display features built-in sound bars delivering 3-way 2.2 channels of 120 watt sound. The S9 can accept voice commands with its built-in microphone and Samsung’s Voice Interaction, and navigate content through Samsung’s redesigned Smart Hub.

That new Smart Hub – coming to select 2013 TVs, Blu-ray players and home theater systems – includes five panels for Smart TV program guides, video-on-demand, apps, social, and personal content. And, if you’re not sure what to watch next, the program guide can provide personalized suggestions for shows that are airing shortly based on what you’ve watched in the past.

Well, enjoy the rich people!

  1. With the economy as it is, as bad as it is. Nobody can afford it, and who wants a tv that will think for you? The problem is people don’t think enough for themselves as it is.
There is a price tag beyond ridiculous! The middle class cannot afford one. With foreclosure hell running rampant out there, people won’t even have a house to put one in. Nobody has jobs, people losing their homes, unemployment out the roof, and there is more to come of that…
