Famed architect Zaha Hadid, well known for her curvy, futuristic buildings from China to Belgrade also joined the architectural map of the high line with her first project in New York. A rendering of the glass and steel building, an 11-story condominium with 40 apartments adjacent to the High Line, was released by developer Related. Luxury apartments start at $4,595,000 for the least expensive condo and going all the way up to $35 million for the most expensive of the three penthouses. And, as always happens, exactly that one – the most expensive is first sold.
The unit, identified as Penthouse 37 is the five-bedroom, six-and-a-half bath duplex apartment which spreads over 6,391 square feet on the upper floors of the planned 11-story building. The spread also includes a 2,297-square-foot terrace and 334-square-feet in private balcony space.
The owner of the unit won’t just have to shell out the lofty price but will also have to pay $330,000 in annual carrying charges. The electricity bill for the apartment is expected to amount to about $41,000 a year!
If $35 million is too much for you, still can opt for Penthouse 38 – a three bedroom with three and a half bathrooms offered for $12 million and Penthouse 39 – a four bedroom with four and a half bathrooms which sells for $17 million.
