Since 1843, House of Krug has launched a new edition of Krug Grande Cuvée every year…
Considered the most generous expression of champagne, this edition is offered once a year, in honor of the founder of the famous house, Joseph Krug. Continuing this tradition, the brand launched the 168th edition of the famous Grande Cuvée.
As a combination of almost 200 wines from multiple vintages, this champagne is an amalgam of great richness and refined elegance. It contains notes of hazelnuts, nougat, fruit and citrus jelly, with hints of brioche and honey. The golden colored champagne is filled with juicy notes of fresh and dried citrus, marzipan and ginger, and it is best when served with a temperature between 9 and 12 degrees. It can be combined with various dishes, ranging from parmesan, through fish, all the way to black truffles.
Compiled since the 2012 harvest, this edition of the Grande Cuvée is made from 42 percent of Chardonnay reserves. It has also matured over seven years, and can currently be purchased for $212.
