Kisawa Sanctuary – Ecological, Luxury Paradise Of Mozambique

Kisawa Sanctuary

Located on Benguerra Island in Mozambique, Kisawa Sanctuary Resort wants to blend in with its natural surroundings…
Spreading over the beach of this island, its forests and sand dunes, the resort will have twelve one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom bungalows. Each will have its own private beach area, swimming pool, outdoor terrace, shaded outdoor living area, summer kitchen, massage box, personal electric bicycles and sections decorated and equipped with pieces by local artists. In addition to private spaces, the resort will offer four restaurants, tennis courts, water sports and two bars.

Developed through a partnership between entrepreneur Nina Flohr and Bazaruto Center for Scientific Studies (BCSS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the local subtropical ecosystem, the Kisawa Sanctuary Resort will be 3D printed using local sand and seawater to reduce pollution.
“My mission for Kisawa is to create a level of hospitality and design that, to my knowledge, does not exist today, a place that inspires feelings of freedom and luxury born from nature, space and true privacy,” said Nina Flohr.
“We’ve used design as a tool, not as a style, to ensure Kisawa is integrated, both culturally and environmentally into Mozambique.”
The construction of the resort will be completed in the middle of next year, while the prices of accommodation units will start from $8,000 per night.
