Limited Edition Gucci Mama Bag
Gucci has designed a limited edition bag exclusively for the Mother’s Day. Gucci and UNICEF cooperate for six years, and for this occasion Gucci has introduced a limited edition Mamma bag, designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini.
This practical and beautiful bag for mothers is made of cotton and linen with leather trim and double leather handles in the traditional red and green ribbon. The exterior of this simple but elegant bag features a front-zip pocket and two open side pockets, while the interior contains a zip pocket and a flat open pocket with three compartments. 25% of the retail price from each handbag sold through June 15 will be donated to UNICEF HIV/AIDS programs. The iconic Italian luxury brand is guaranteeing a generous donation of $70,000 which will go towards HIV test kits for expectant mothers, part of UNICEF’s comprehensive initiative that aims to eliminate new HIV infections in newborns.
Salma Hayek said, As a member of the PPR Foundation for Women’s Dignity and Rights, I am proud that my friend Frida Giannini has designed a special bag for mother’s day that will benefit UNICEF and its global flight against HIV and AIDS. There is no better day to honor and support women. It’s easy, simple and efficient: a beautiful bag with a real social impact, I love it!
The limited edition Gucci Mamma Bag will be exclusively available at the gucci.com store from April 28, 2011 to June 15th, 2011 priced at €790/$970. [Gucci]
