Historic rare 1902 Rambler Model B, one of the one the first motorcycles to make it into commercial production goes under the hammer at Bonhams Las Vegas Motorcycle Sale in January 2013. Offered for sale from the Indian Motorcycle Museum, this unique bike comes in unaltered, unrestored condition complete with its original paint from 110 years ago.
Although resembles to a bicycle, this Rambler Model B is a true motorcycle with a custom long frame for a larger wheelbase granting better stability and the engine made in-house, especially for this vehicle. Manufactured by Colonel Albert Pope’s American Cycle Manufacturing Company of New York just a few months after Indian’s introductory 1901 Camelback model and was offered for sale back in year 1902 – a full year before Harley-Davidson’s first commercial motorcycle, this Rambler is certainly one of the oldest US-manufactured machines in existance ever.
Estimated to fetch between $60,000 to $80,000, this historic rare 1902 Rambler Model B will be offered alongside the recently announced collection of Rennsport BMWs – including the very rare 1939 Kompressor – at the third annual Bonhams Las Vegas Motorcycle Sale on Thursday 10th January at Bally’s Hotel & Casino on The Strip.
