Etihad Airways’ first Airbus A380 flight from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai has become the world’s most expensive flight with a seat in a private luxury suite costing $38,000 (Rs 25.22 lakhs) for one-way ticket. With a seating capacity of 496 passengers, the flight includes The Residence, a luxury three-room pent-house which consists of the Living Room, the Bedroom and the Shower Room. The rooms are completely furnished. Travelers will also enjoy a 32-inch flat television, butler service and an exclusive chef on board.
With a connection in Abu Dhabi, the journey between New York’s JFK International Airport and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport takes anywhere from 19 to 21 hours.
Etihad, the United Arab Emirates’ national carrier, already laid claim to the world’s most expensive one-way flight on its New York-Abu Dhabi route. It costs $32,000 (£22,000) to fly in The Residence on that route.
